It’s a shame actually. A penalty for Messi from CONMEBOL. Yes, it is shocking news for Messi fans. The Argentine little magician Messi has been banned for three months. CONMEBOL which is the South American Football Confederation has banned him from international football for three months. Earlier, the left-footer criticized CONMEBOl for their actions in the recently finished Copa America.
The South American Football Confederation which is simply known as CONMEBOL and Messi told them the ‘Corrupted’ organization for some controversial decisions in the 2019 Copa America. So, they have banned the LM10 for three months. Besides, Lionel Messi is also fined 50 thousand USD as well. The Argentine star has got a total of seven days for the appeal against the punishment. Yesterday, CONMBOL has revealed the news.

After facing the defeat in the semi-final against Brazil in the 2019 Copa America and after the victory in the 3rd place fixer match of the same tournament against Chile, Lionel Messi made the strong criticize the CONMEBOL officials and their members.
He even claimed that CONMEBOL was trying to give the Copa America trophy to the host nation Brazil. And he also added that after the semi-final, he made the statement and so, he was given the red card unnecessarily in the 3rd place fixer match. Though the five-time Ballon d’Or winner apologized for his comment later.
However, in the 3rd place fixer match in the Copa America 2019 against Chile, Messi was given the red card and so, he has been banned for one match already. So, in the upcoming March, the World Cup 2022 qualifier will start and Messi will miss the first match in South America.

Now, he has been banned for three months. And so, he will miss the upcoming three friendly matches in the September and October against Chile, Mexico and Germany. At the Los Angeles, in the 5th September, Argentina will face Chile and just five days later, they will play against Mexico. And against Germany, the friendly match will be taken place on the 9th October at Dortmund.
However, CONMEBOL has not revealed any reason behind the banishment of the Argentine star Messi yet. For the punishment, Argentina Football Association (AFA) and Messi himself have not made any comment yet. LM10 did not go to collect the 3rd place trophy in 2019 Copa America and when he was asked, Messi stated that he did not go because they were insulted and he could not accept that and also he did not want to be a part of the corruption as well.
