Afghanistan won the Test against Bangladesh by 224 runs

Yes, it is quite surprising and also a bit of shocking news, is not that right? A team like Afghanistan beat Bangladesh in Test! The Tigers fans must be so disappointed. Afghanistan is a lower-ranked team and they are now visiting Bangladesh. It seems that from the previous statistics, Bangladesh is always favourite at their home venue against any team in the World. And when they face Afghanistan, they should dominate the ground. But, what has happened at Chittagong? Afghanistan won the Test against Bangladesh by 224 runs!

224 runs! Can you just imagine? The Tigers which consists of Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Mushfiq, Tamim and some other top-rated players, how can they face such defeat, that is the real question.

The purpose of Afghanistan is to visit Bangladesh to play just one Test. Before making any official match, they also played a warm-up match against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI and the match was drawn. Now, on 5th September 2019, the only Test between Afghanistan and Bangladesh started at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong.

Afghanistan won the toss and let the Tigers bowl first. Afghan team could not make any good start but in 19 runs, opener Ihsanullah returned to the dressing room. The Tigers used only spin attacks at the beginning and they were quite successful. In 77 runs, they took three Afghan wickets but Rahmat Shah and Asghar Afghan took the lead and brought the team ahead. Rahmat Shah made a century in the first innings. He added the highest 102 runs and Asghar Afghan score 92 runs. Later, Afsar scored 41 runs and captain of Afghan team scored 51 runs for the team. Based on their performance, Afghanistan added 342 runs by losing all wickets in their first innings. Taijul Islam took the highest four wickets in the first innings.

Later, Bangladesh came to bat but faced batting disaster. They could not play a whole day that means complete 90 overs but in 70.5 overs, the Tigers lost all wickets scoring 205 runs. Mominul scored the highest 52 runs. Rashid Khan took five wickets for Afghan team. In the 2nd innings, Afghanistan scored 260 runs in exchange for all wickets where Ibrahim Zadran added 87 runs highest. Shakib took three wickets highest for the Tigers. Later, the Tigers came to chase finally but once again their long batting lineup could not bring them the most demanded result but scoring 173 runs, they lost all wickets.
