Arsenal won the 1st leg of Europa League semi-final

When the football lovers are crazy about the Champions League, some top-rated clubs which failed to qualify for the Champions League are passing the very busy time with the UEFA Europa League. Like the big clubs Arsenal and Chelsea, both are playing the Europa League competition and most amazing fact is that both of them have reached the semi-final of the tournament. Now, yesterday, the first leg of the semi-final of the tournament took place and Arsenal won the 1st leg of Europa League semi-final at the Emirates Stadium. On the other hand, the Blues have made the draw against the German club Eintracht.

So, by winning the first leg in the semi-final, Arsenal has moved one step closer to the final of the Europa League. On the other side, Chelsea made the draw of a 1 – 1 goal at their away venue and also, they have moved to a better position than the German club. In the last Thursday night at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal beat Spanish club Valencia by a 3 – 1 goal. And at the Commerzbank-Arena, Chelsea made the draw by a 1 – 1 goal so far. In the upcoming 9th May, both teams will play the 2nd leg of the Europa League semi-final.

At the Emirates Stadium, Valencia went ahead in the 11th minute of the game. Diakhaby found the net for the guest team by the head. After went behind at the beginning, Lacazette scored a pair of goals and so, the Gunners took control of the match. It seemed that they got the pilot’s seat. In the 18th minute of the game, Aubameyang passed the ball and Lacazette scored the first goal.

And in the 26th minute of the game, Xhaka passed the ball and through the head, the French forward found the net for the 2nd time. In the 63rd minute of the game, Arsenal got another good chance but Lacazette could not use it. So, the goal difference remained the same. And the French forward could not get his hat-trick. In the additional minutes of the 2nd half, Aubameyang himself scored the 3rd goal and Arsenal won the 1st leg of Europa League semi-final.

On the other side, in the 2nd semi-final match between Chelsea and Eintracht, Jovic found the net in the 23rd minute and the local team went ahead. At the end of the first half, Pedro led the Blues returned to the match. However, Chelsea got an important away goal and so, at the Stamford Bridge in the 2nd leg, they will be ahead of the Eintracht.
