Just a few minutes later, the former Atletico player Griezmann led the Catalan club ahead. But in the end, Atletico Madrid turned around within a very short time. Within just five minutes, they scored two more goals and took control of the game. As a result, Atletico Madrid beat Barca by an amazing battle! Though the wonderful victory, the team of Diego Simeone has qualified for the Spanish Super Cup final.
At the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Saudi Arabia earlier today, the 2nd semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup took place between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. The team of Messi faced an unfortunate defeat by a 3 – 2 goals. The goal scorers for the Atletico Madrid are Koke, Morata, and Correa.

The Spanish Super Cup is taking place with the complete new looks and the host venue is outside of Spain. This time, Saudi Arabia is the host country and the tournament is taking place outside of Spain for the first time in history. The four teams have taken part in the tournament where in the first semi-final, Real Madrid beat Valencia yesterday by a 3 – 1 goal and secured their place into the final. The fans hoped to see another El Clasico. But destroying their dream, Atletico beat Barcelona in the 2nd semi-final and confirmed their ticket into the final. In the upcoming 12th January, the two teams of Madrid will fight each other for the title. It will be a Madrid Derby.

From the beginning of the game, Barcelona started to play quite aggressively and kept the pressure on Atletico’s defense. In the 22nd minute, they got the first chance but the shot of Messi was stopped by the Atletico goalkeeper Oblak. In the 32nd minute, Barca could concede a goal but the free-kick was stopped by Neto. Five minutes later, Suarez missed a chance and so, the first half ended with a 0 – 0 goals.
In the first minute of the 2nd half, Atletico went ahead. Correa passed the ball into the box and the Spanish midfielder Koke scored the first goal. They could not celebrate the goal for long but Messi led Barcelona returned to the game just five minutes later. In the 59th minute, once again, Messi scored a goal but it was canceled. Three minutes later, Barcelona increased the difference though the goal of Griezmann. In the 81st minute and 86th minute, Atletico scored two goals and went ahead.
