Bangladesh has recently faced the unfortunate defeat in the Test series against Afghanistan where the Test series consisted of just one match. The Afghan team visited Bangladesh for the only Test. However, they have another schedule which is the Tri-Nations Series that consists of Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan. It is basically a T20I series that is now hosted in Bangladesh. Earlier today, the tournament has already started and in the inaugural match, Bangladesh has faced one of the guest members Zimbabwe. Bangladesh won the 1st T20I against Zimbabwe in Tri-Nation series.
It is not actually a surprising fact. The Tigers are the far better team than Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. But, in T20I, they are a bit weak. Earlier today, they were about to lose the match against Zimbabwe but based on the amazing performance of Mosaddek Hossain and Afif Hossain, the Tigers returned to the game.
However, before the official tournament started, team Zimbabwe has played a warm-up match against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI. And the guest team won by 7 wickets so far. Now, earlier today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh started the Tri-Nation series by facing Zimbabwe. The Tigers won the toss and decided to field first. Due to the rain, the match was reduced to 18 overs per side.
Zimbabwe recover from 63/5 to set Bangladesh 145 to win the first T20I of the tri-series!
