Barbados Tridents would make it to the playoff in CPL 2019

Barbados Tridents is a franchise team in the Caribbean Premier League and they are one of the three teams that tested the title of the CPL. They won the Caribbean Premier League title once in 2014 which was the 2nd episode of the tournament. In the last season of CPL, they finished the tournament stood in the last position. Now, in the ongoing season of the CPL, they have finished the group stage but has not been confirmed the next level. But, analyzing their opponents and the current statistics, Barbados Tridents would make it to the playoff in CPL 2019!

Barbados Tridents which team is led by Jason Holder and they have a number of top-rated players. They have Alex Hales like hard-hitter and bowler like Wahab Riaz. The team is quite strong and already finished the group stage.

According to the schedule, each participating team are to be played a total of ten group level matches and so, Barbados Tridents has played all ten matches so far. Now, they have managed five victories and faced the defeat in the rest five. So, gathering 10 points, Barbados Tridents is holding the 2nd position. Still, they can not confirm the next round which is the playoff. Because most of the teams have still a couple of matches to go.

Earlier today, Barbados Tridents played their last group level match and the opponent was their favorite which is Trinbago Knight Riders. The match took place at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain. We have used the word ‘Favourite’ here. Why? Because out of the five victories, Barbados managed two victories against the same Trinbago Knight Riders. In the match, Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bat first.

In the 4 runs, Trinbago lost their opener James who just added 1 run. But in the 2nd wicket partnership, they added almost 50 runs. If we look at the highest scorer, Lendl Simmons added the highest 60 runs. The best players could not provide their best and so, their innings ended scoring 134 runs in 20 overs. In the meantime, they lost eight wickets so far. Later, team Barbados came to chase the score and it was not so high to chase. They started the match simply and their opener did most of the things and made the match quite easy. They jointly added 54 runs where Johnson scored 55 runs and Alex added 33 runs so far. By losing three wickets, Barbados Tridents chased the score in 19.4 overs.
