Shahid Afridi’s leg-spin is very effective for most of the batsmen. But the same Afridi feared a batsman. Who was that? The West Indies legend Brian Lara used to make Afridi nerves.
Shahid Afridi is the former Pakistan national cricket team skipper. He has taken his international retirement already but still continuing his local league career. Afridi is renowned for his destructive batting style. But later, he became renowned for his bowling. No, it is not so easy to face the speedy spinner.
When the topic comes that Afridi feared a batsman, everybody must think of his neighbor country batsman Sachin Tendulkar. But no. Afridi feared to bowl against the batting legend at that time. Because of his amazing footwork, Brian Lara used to take an exam of all the spinners in his time. And the same footwork was too difficult to read for Shahid Afridi himself also.

Earlier today, the former Pakistani destructive batsman talked with a renowned media, and there, he revealed the secret. Yes, the West Indian former captain Brian Lara made his nerves. In every time, when Afridi went bowling against the masterclass batsman of West Indies, the fear was inside him. It seemed to him that Lara would make the boundary in his next bowl. Yes, Lara has dominated him all the time. To bowl against the top-rated batsman, he did not feel any confidence.
Not only Shahid Afridi but every spinner in the cricket world was not safe in front of the West Indies legend. Yes, the 40 years old Pakistani former all-rounder has demanded that. He also added that Brian Lara is a top-rated batsman in the world still, though he is no longer in the cricket stage. He used to dominate the spinners who went bowling against him. When he visited Sri Lanka, he dominated the Lions spinner Muttiah Muralitharan also. Against the spinners, his foot-work was so amazing. And it was so amazing to see him play against the greatest bowlers like Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, and some others. He was from a different level no doubt.
