Chelsea won the Champions League match against Lille at Stade Pierre-Mauroy

Chelsea is one of the big clubs in the English Premier League and they won the last Premier League title a couple of years ago. Since then, their form is not so convincing. But in the last season of the EPL, they made it to the top four and so, they have been qualified for the new season of the UCL. Though they have faced the inaugural UCL match defeat at their home venue earlier today, the Blues have played the 2nd round. And, according to the news, Chelsea won the UCL match against Lille at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

In the 2nd round, the Blues faced the Frech club Lille and it was the away match of the EPL club. But, facing defeat at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea won the away match! Yes, it is quite surprising.


In the season of the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea has found the first victory. The apprentices of Lampard have defeated the French club Lille by scoring two goals in the two halves. Earlier today, the match of group H in the UCL, Chelsea won by a 2 – 1 goal. The first half between Chelsea and Lille ended with a 1 – 1 goal and in the 2nd half, the Brazilian midfielder Willian created the difference.

In the 22nd minute of the game, the English forward Abraham led the guest team ahead. From outside of the box, Tomori passed the ball and by breaking the off-side trap the English young talent scored the goal. In the Champions League, it is his first goal. Eleven minutes later, Lille took the chance of the weak defence of the guest team Chelsea. From the corner, the Nigerian forward Osimhen found the net through his head. In the additional minutes of the first half, Jorginho took a shot which was stopped by the post. 

In the 77th minute of the game, Chelsea once again took the lea. The time the Brazilian star Willian was the hero. Hudson-Odoi passed made the cross which went to the box and the Brazilian star found the net through an amazing volley. In their first match, Chelsea was defeated against the Spanish club Valencia by a 1 – 0.

Chelsea is placed into group H where the Dutch club Ajax is holding the top position by winning two matches consecutively. Chelsea is on the 3rd position right now.
