Lewandowski is following the path of Messi-Ronaldo

Lewandowski’s name is counted beside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo now. It seems that the Bayern striker Lewandowski is following the path of Messi-Ronaldo.

Against the Union Berlin, the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has found the net successfully. Though the successful spot-kick, the 31 years old striker has found his 40th goal in the ongoing season considering all the competition. After counting the goal, the Polish striker has touched a record. No, he has not overtaken them yet only but touched. He has scored at least 40 goals in his last five seasons consecutively.

After the break just because of the Coronavirus, in the last Sunday, the German top-flight Bundesliga has returned to the ground once again. And in the resuming match of the current league champion, Bayern Munich beat Union Berlin by a 2 – 0 goal. In the 39th minute, the Polish striker found the net and led the team ahead. And the other goal was scored by the French defender Pavard.

In the ongoing season, considering all the competitive, by playing 34 matches, the 31 years old forward has scored already 40 goals. In the top competitions in Europe, only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo had the record of scoring at least 40 goals in five or more consecutive seasons. Now, Poland national team forward has written his name into the list.

However, the Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has owned the record of scoring at least 40 goals more than five consecutive seasons. Until now, the 32 years old Argentine forward has scored at least 40 goals in the highest ten seasons consecutively. It is an amazing record. But because of the Coronavirus, it seems that he might not be able to keep it for more seasons. If the season will be cancelled, the Barca star will not get the chance to increase the record.

Wearing the jersey of the Los Blancos, Cristiano Ronaldo scored at least 40 goals in eight seasons consecutively. But after his departure of the club in the last summer, the Portuguese forward’s journey has been stopped.

After joining the German champion Bayern Munich, in his debut season, Robert Lewandowski scored 25 goals in 2014/15 season. But after that, he started to provide his best. In his rest four seasons, Lewandowski has scored 42, 43, 41 and 40 goals gradually. In the running season of Bundesliga, Lewandowski has scored a total of 26 goals which makes him the highest goalscorer in the season.
