Manchester City started the new season of the Champions League as one of the most potential contenders and after getting three victories consecutively in the UCL group round, they have stumbled. No, the team of Pep Guardiola has not faced the defeat yet but reportedly, Man City lost points in the Champions League!

Pep Guardiola’s team had the chance of moving to the next round of the Champions League if they could manage the victory in the 4th round. And to secure that they went ahead at the beginning but could not keep their net clean till the last. Against Atalanta, Man City has lost points and now, they have to wait till the next match.

Manchester City has been placed into Group C in the Champions League and earlier today, the C group matches took place. In a match, Man City faced the Italian club, Atalanta. It was the away match of the team of Pep Guardiola but they started the match as they played at their home venue. At the beginning of the match, the home team started to give the pressure on Man City’s defense and could go ahead in the 4th minute of the game. But the Dutch football player Hateboer missed the chance though he was in a good position. Three minutes later, Man City made their first attack and found the net. Into the box, Jesus made the back pas and Raheem Sterling found the net easily.


Just before the break, into the box of Atalanta, their midfielder Josip has been touched the ball by the hand and so, the referee gave the guest team a penalty. But the Brazilian forward Jesus could not find his mark and so, the chance of increasing the goal difference was lost. In the 4th minute of the 2nd half, the local team returned to the game. Pasalic found the net by the head and so, the fans of the home team started to celebrate. 

In the 81st minute of the game, the opponent team midfielder Josip was fouled by the Man City goalkeeper. He went outside of the box and done that. So, the referee gave him the red card directly. As the first goalkeeper in the Champions League who was substituted and saw the red card. The rest of the time, the guest team defender Walker kept the net clean. The English right-back was good at this. By playing four matches in the Champions League group stage, the EPL champion managed 10 points and holding the top position in the group.
