Mashrafe has stepped down from Bangladesh ODI captaincy

Mashrafe Mortaza who is the current leader of Bangladesh cricket team ion the ODI format. Though earlier, he led the Tigers in all three formats. Mashrafe has stepped down from Bangladesh ODI captaincy.  He took his retirement from the Test and T20I crickets. Mortaza is the captain of the Bangladesh cricket team for a long time. He is regarded as one of the best captains in the cricket world. Undoubtedly, Mashrafe is the best captain in Bangladeshi cricket. But his professional career has come to the end. No, he has not announced his ODI retirement but earlier today, the Tigers bowler Mashrafe has given up the captaincy.

Like that, he took his retirement from the T20I cricket one day. At the venue of the Lions, before ending the T20I series, Mashrafe Mortaza announced his T20I retirement. So, from then, his T20I career was ended. Now, the Tigers are playing the ODI series against Zimbabwe at the home venue of Bangladesh. The Tigers already won the series by winning the first two matches. Now, the 3rd match will take place tomorrow. Before the match, as the captain, Mashrafe Mortaza faced the press conference earlier today and announced his leave from the ODI captaincy. As the Captain of the Tigers in the ODI cricket, tomorrow will be his last match.

Though he has given up the captaincy still he has not announced his retirement from the ODI cricket. he wants to continue his professional ODI career with the Tigers. To take the decision, Mashrafe had to think a lot, he stated. To lead a team like the Tigers is a great honor for his life and when he wants to take his leave, he had to think very clearly.

To take an important decision, a man must have given some time. For the last fifteen years, it is a very important part of his life. The most important part, he said. His all achievements have come through the game, through cricket. So, to take a certain decision, he needed time and now, he has got it.


The decision is for the greater good of the Bangladesh cricket. So, from the next week, he will be the former captain of the Tigers team. Mashrafe also added that they used to play for Bangladesh. So, it is a big responsibility. They are all playing for the emotions of the Bangladeshi people. It is not a family matter. If it is, there might be a chance to discuss.
