Messi’s goal brought three points at the Barca camp

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona both are the top-rated teams in La Liga. Every season, they fight for the league title. Earlier today, in the La Liga match, they faced each other and the match was too contesting. No team could find the net easily. Once again, when the team needed him the most, Lionel Messi has presented his true color and made the difference. Messi’s goal brought three points at the Barca camp! Now, Barcelona has reclaimed the top position on the La Liga point table from Real Madrid.

At the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano which is the home venue of Atletico Madrid, an important La Liga match took place earlier today and the high voltage match ended with a 1 – 0 goal. The team of Ernesto Valverde won the match against Atletico. Including the defeat, Atletico has not found any victory against the Catalan club for their last 19 matches consecutively.

Due to the fault of the Barca’s defense, at the beginning of the game, they were about to concede a goal. In the 7th minute, the Barca defenders failed to clear the ball and so, Hermoso took the Conakry shot. By touching the Firpo’s leg, it was hit the post but went outside. In the 19th minute, once again Ter Stegen kept the net clean amazingly. From the right side, Hermoso took the shot but could not escape the goalkeeper. Atletico played aggressive football in the first 20 minutes but later, Barcelona kept returning to the game. But, the defense of Atletico was quite strong and when Messi-Suarez got the ball, the Atletico players chased them down and so, they could not break the defense. 

In the 36th minute, Suarez took a speedy shot from outside of the box but missed. Five minutes later, the German goalkeeper saved Barcelona. This time, he stopped the head of Morata. Bad luck for Barcelona and if not, they could score a goal just two minutes later. The head of Pique was stopped by the crossbar.


Finally, in the 87th minute, Barcelona got a fantastic goal. From their half, Roberto passed the ball and Messi ran to the opponent’s goal. In the meantime, he passed Suarez and the Uruguayan returned the pass to the Argentine. And from near the corner of the box, Messi took his trademark left-foot shot that escaped the goalkeeper.
