South Africa end their campaign with a 10 run win over Australia at Manchester

Australia cricket team is the most successful team in the Cricket World Cup by winning the highest five titles of the most prestigious tournament. They are also the defending champion. For a long time, in the season of the World Cup, team Aussie grabbed the top position but finally, they could not keep that. The place has been taken by India and Australia is demoted to the 2nd position. In their last group stage match, Australia was defeated against South Africa. So, Australia faced 2nd defeat in the World Cup 2019. South Africa end their campaign with a 10 run win over Australia at Manchester.

On the other side, India which is holding the top position onthe point table just faced one defeat against England. So, with one point ahead, India is on the top position and Australia is now on the 2nd position so far.

If we consider the last match opponent of team Australia, it was South Africa. Proteas has passed a very bad time in the season of World Cup and as the first top-rated team, they were ruled out from the competition. Team South Africa just managed three victories out of their nine group stage matches including the last match. It seems, came to the end, Proteas showed their true color but it was in vain. They have no chance of movving into the knockout round.

Along with the match between Australia and South Africa, the group stage of 2019 Cricket World Cup has finished. Now, only three matches are ahead. Two matches are semi-final and one is final.

Now, in the semi-final, the opponents are already selected along with the end of the group level. Australia failed to take the first place and so, they will face the hard opponent comparatively in the semi-final and it will be the host nation England.

Hopwever, at the Old Trafford, Manchester the last group match took place earlier today and it was a day/ night competition. South Africa won the toss and came to bat first. It seems in the last match Proteas batsmen found their way. Captain of the team Du Plessis scored a century and Van Der Dussen added 95 runs. In 50 overs, South Africa lost six wickets and scored 325 runs so far.

In return, Australia also played complete 50 overs and lost only four wickets but they could not chase the score. David Warner added 101 runs unbeaten in the match.
