Sri Lanka won the T20I series against the Green Army

The fact is quite surprising, yes. Sri Lanka won the T20I series against the Green Army! At the home venue of Pakistan, the top-ranked holder team in the T20I competition faced a series of defeat. Without the best squad of the Lions, they easily defeated Pakistan! After a long time, a top-rated team is visiting Pakistan and so, a number of players did not come to their ground.

Pakistan cricket board has arranged dual series and invited Sri Lanka. Actually, after considering plenty of things, the Sri Lankan board agreed of sending their players in Pakistan and now, everything is fine there. The dual series between the two superpower teams in Asia started with the ODI series which consisted of three matches. Pakistan won the ODI series against Serie Lanka. When the time comes for the T20I series which also consists of three matches, the Green Army was a bit confident. They are the number one team in the T20I competition in the World considering the ICC ranking. And, the series is taking place at their home venue. So, they were quite relaxing and now, they have missed the chance of winning the series.

 

The T20I series started on 5th October 2019 and the match was won by the Liones by 64 runs. Like the old-time, Pakistan faced the batting collapsed and got all out scoring 101 runs. After losing the first match, the Green Army had the chance of winning the rest two matches. So, that they could win the series. But, earlier today, the 2nd T20I took place between them and Sri Lanka once again won by 35 runs. Along with that, the Lions have confirmed the series.

At the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Sri Lanka won the toss in the 2nd T20I and decided to bat first. They could not make a good start but in 16 runs, lost opener Danushka Gunathilaka and in 41 runs, the 2nd opener Fernando. In the 3rd wicket partnership between Bhanuka and Shehan, they added near about 100 runs. Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored the highest 77 runs and Shehan added 34 runs. They led the team to a big total. In 20 overs, the Lions lost six wickets and presented 182 runs in front of the Shaheens.

Later, Pakistan came to chase the target but the failure of their top orders, they did not come true. The highest scorer for the team was Imad Wasim who scored 47 runs. In 19 overs, once again, the Green Army lost all wickets scoring 147 runs so far. Nuwan Pradeep took four wickets for Sri Lanka.
