Steve Smith’s brilliant innings beat Pakistan at the Manuka Oval

Pakistan cricket team is still holding the top position on the ICC T20I ranking and now, they are playing against Australia. After facing the whitewash against Sri Lanka at the venue of Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has replaced the former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and now, the T20I skipper for the Green Army is Babar Azam. Under his leading, Pakistan is traveling Australia and the purpose of the visit is to play a T20I and a Test series against the home team Australia. The Green Army has started the dual tournament with the T20I series but unfortunately, the inaugural T20I between Australia and Pakistan could not end up as usual. Pakistan just played 15 overs but due to the rain, the match was canceled. yesterday, the 2nd T20I between Pakistan and Australia took place and Steve Smith’s brilliant innings beat Pakistan at the Manuka Oval.

Earlier today at the Manuka Oval, Canberra the 2nd T20I between Australia and Pakistan took place. It was the first T20I match that took place at the venue of Canberra. The Green Army won the toss and decided to bat first.

The T20I skipper of the team Babar Azam opened the innings with Fakhar Zaman but jointly added only 22 runs. Scoring individual 2 runs, Fakhar Zaman was gone. Top orders of the team failed to score good runs only but Babar and Iftikhar Ahmed played well. Based on their score, Babar added 50 runs and Iftikhar Ahmed added the highest 62 runs, Pakistan scored a total of 150 runs in exchange for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Ashton Agar took the highest two wickets for Australia.

David Warner and Aaron Finch started the innings for Australia and they also stumbled in 30 runs. Warner has gone first scoring 20 runs and 18 runs later, the captain of the team Finch was gone too. But later, Steve Smith played well and he alone led the team to the victory. The former Aussie skipper added the highest 80 runs unbeaten. By playing 18.3 overs, Australia scored 151 runs losing three wickets only. The Green Army had a number of talented bowlers but could not destroy the Aussie batting line up so earlier. So, now the home team Australia is leading the series by 1 – 0. The last T20I between them will take place on 8th November 2019 at the Perth Stadium.
