The 8th edition of FIFA Women’s World Cup has come to the end. Just four matches are going to select the champion of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019. On the way to the title, Sweden is one of the top-rated contenders. They are also one of the four teams which in the tournament which has made it to the semi-final. Now, in the 2nd semi-final, Sweden women will face the Netherlands in the semi-final! It will be too contesting match no doubt.
Yes, of course, Swedish women are one step ahead of the Netherlands team. Sweden has played final of the tournament once in 2003 but against Germany, they faced an unfortunate defeat by a 2 – 1 goal. Besides, they grabbed the 3rd position twice times. Once in 1991 and the 2nd one in 2011.
On the other side, the Dutch women could not show such performance earlier and it is their first time. So, would they take the pressure of the big match or not, that is still the question.
But, after considering their group level performance, we are talking about the Netherlands, they won all three matches. In the three matches of the group level, five different players of them scored six goals totally. Just one player Miedema scored two goals.

Their big victory was against Cameroon by a 3 – 1 goal. But when we consider their knockout level performance, in the round of the last sixteen, they played against Japan and won by a 2 – 1 goal. Martens scored two goals alone against Japan. And in the quarter-final, they faced a tough opponent Italy and beat them by a 2 – 0 goal. But considering all their previous opponents, Sweden will be the strongest no doubt.
The match between Sweden and the Netherlands, we will keep Sweden one step ahead because of their experience and recent performance. They faced the United States in the group stage and faced their first defeat by a 2 – 0 goal. But against the rest opponents named Chile and Thailand, they got victories.
In the first knockout round, last sixteen, Swedish women faced Canada and won by a 1 – 0 goal and in the quarter-final, their opponent was powerful and one of the most successful teams in the tournament Germany. Sweden beat German women by a 2 – 1 goal. Now, their opponent is the Dutch.

However, the 2nd semi-final between the Netherlands and Sweden will take place at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in the 3rd July 2019.
