Pakistan and South Africa are passing a very bad time in the ongoing season of the ICC Cricket World Cup. Both Pakistan and South Africa are the superpower teams and also the potentials contenders in the World Cup but they have failed to prove this time. Like India, New Zealand and Australia, they were also regarded as the two top-rated teams but in the ongoing season, they are behind than Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Pakistan is holding the 7th position where South Africa is holding the 9th position so far. By playing seven group stage matches, Proteas just got one victory where they faced the defeat five times. One match was abandoned. Now, according to the news, The Green Army beat South Africa by 49 runs! As a result, team South Africa is eliminated from the group level. Their World Cup dream has over.
On the other side, team Pakistan is also not in a better position. They just won two matches by playing six. With 5 points, they have still chance to move to the top four. But to secure the position, they need to win the rest three matches. Pakistan’s next three opponents are New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. In that case, New Zealand would be a big problem for them and against the Tigers, they will face hard competition. So, it will not be so easy to move to the next level.
With that loss, South Africa are out of #CWC19 semi-final contention.
Pakistan, meanwhile, move up to No.7. Their knockout hopes are very much alive.
