Maldini-Carlos should have been given Ballon d’Or - Ronaldo Luis Nazario

The legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima has talked about a number of top-rated players who failed to lift the Ballon d’Or.  Ronaldo thought that Maldini-Carlos should have been given Ballon d’Or. In a professional career, there are lots of achievements. But still one lacking behind. Ballon d’Or remained untouched.

The 43 years old former Barcelona striker Ronaldo Lima won the most prestigious individual trophy twice times in his professional career. In the years 1997 and 2002. Besides, he won the FIFA Best Player awards three times also in 1996, 1997, and 2002.

In his opinion, the two Italian World Cup-winning footballers Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti deserved the Ballon d’Or. Besides, the legendary defender of the country Italy Paolo Maldini, the Spanish star forward Raul and the Brazilian World Cup-winning defender Roberto Carlos also should have been given the award. It was totally unfair.

In recent times, when the outbreak of Coronvirus is ongoing, and football has not been resumed, the stars are spending their time on social media. In that case, the former Real Madrid striker revealed his thought on Instagram Live with the Italian Del Piero. There, Ronaldo Lima shared his opinion.

Del Piero, Totti, Maldini and he thinks that Roberto Carlos also deserved the Ballon d’Or. Because he was behind the Brazilian striker Ronaldo twice times considering the vote. In the year 1997, Carlos became 5th and in the year 2002, he grabbed the 2nd position. Yes, he still believes that they should have been given the most prestigious Ballon d’Or.

In the year 2001, the former Real Madrid legend Raul went too close. But failed. In that time, by defeating him, the former Liverpool star Michael Owen won the Ballon d’Or. To the many, as the greatest defender of the history of football, Paolo Maldini is counted. He became 3rd in the years 1994 and 2003.

The 43 years old Brazilian legend Ronaldo who is one of the greatest of all time in the history of football spent his colorful career at Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo also played for the Spanish giants Barcelona as we speak. He had the chance to take him to the best of all time. But he was defeated by the injury. He finished his career in the year 2011 when he played for the Brazilian club Corinthians. By playing 98 international appearances wearing the shirt of Brazil national team, he scored 62 goals so far.
