Ireland has secured the 3rd position in ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier

2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier has come to an end. The 3rd place fixer match has already finished and according to the report, Ireland has secured the 3rd position in ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier. If we can that the losing team of the 3rd place fixer match is in luck also. They have grabbed the 4th position but reportedly, the top six teams from the competition will be qualified for the next 2020 ICC T20 World Cup.

If we concentrate the journey of Namibia in the qualifier round, as the 3rd ranked team from group A, they have been promoted to the playoff round. In the 2nd qualifier, they faced Oman and beat them by 54 runs. By winning the qualifier round, they moved to the semi-final. But, coming to the semi-final, luck betrayed them. Against Papua New Guinea, Namibia could not find the victory only but defeat. So, there was no chance of moving to the final but played the 3rd place fixer match earlier today. According to the report, the match between Namibia and Ireland finished just a couple of hours ago and Ireland managed a victory by 27 runs.

Earlier today, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium the 3rd place fixer match between Namibia and Ireland took place. Ireland won the toss and came to bat first. At the same venue, Ireland played the 1st semi-final and could not chase the score that was provided by the Dutch team. So, they thought to take the bat first and it was the right decision.

Paul Stirling and Kevin O Brien opened the innings for Ireland. The openers of the team added 35 runs jointly but the scoring rate was not so good. If we look at their scoresheet, just five players found the two figure runs. The highest scorer was Andrew Balbirnie who added 46 runs so far. Ireland failed to play complete 20 overs but in 19.1 overs, they lost all wickets scoring 135 runs so far. Smit and Craig Williams took three wickets each for Namibia in the match.

So, Namibia came to chase the score but from the very beginning, they started to lose wickets one after another. The opener Stephan added 17 runs only. Their batting condition was far worse than Ireland. Just three players touched two figure runs and the highest scorer was the captain of the team Gerhard Erasmus. He scored 51 runs so far. Scoring 108 runs, the innings of Namibia has been over.
