Papua New Guinea beat Singapore by 43 runs

Papua New Guinea is right now playing the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier round as one of the fourteen teams which are taking place in the United Arab Emirates. Through the qualifying round, few teams will be selected for the main event of the T20 World Cup will be executed in the next 2020. Now, Papua New Guinea made a good start in the tournament and one of the seven teams, they are playing in the group A. All members of group A have already played five qualifier matches and now, Papua New Guinea is holding the top position. Out of their five matches, they just faced one defeat and that was against Scotland. Earlier today, the played the 5th round of the tournament and as stated by the report, Papua New Guinea beat Singapore by 43 runs!

If we consider the five matches of the team, they have faced five different members and lost once against Scotland. Now, by winning against Singapore, they have achieved the 4th victory in the qualifier round and secured their top position.

Earlier today, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai the match between Papua New Guinea and Singapore took place where Avi Dixit made his T20I debut for Singapore. Yes, Singapore won the toss and let Papua New Guinea bat first.

Tony Ura and captain Assad Vala made a good start for New Guinea and jointly added 61 runs. Scoring 24 runs, Vala was gone and just 20 runs later, Tony also followed his captain. Team New Guinea played complete 20 overs and lost four wickets. All players those who came to bat added few runs each and among them the highest scorer was wicketkeeper Kiplin Doriga who scored 43 runs and Charles who added 41 runs. Both batsmen remained not out and presented 180 runs target in front of Singapore. Navin Param took two wickets for Singapore.


Later, Singapore came to chase the score but it was actually quite big for them. Besides, Papua New Guinea bowlers maintained line and length and in 1 run, they took Singapore’s openerSurendran Chandramohan. The 2nd wicket was gone in 37 runs and at the same time, Singapore lost their 3rd wicket as well. Their current run rate was awesome but could not keep their wickets on the crease for long. They also played complete 20 overs but stopped their innings scoring 137 runs so far. Damien Ravu took four wickets highest for the winning team.
