This knee operation is not the 1st time for this forward as he went for it in May last year, Suarez missed the last two league games and the Spanish Cup final, with Barcelona losing to Valencia so he could have a right knee operation and be fit to play in Uruguay in Copa America. Suarez also underwent knee surgery in May 2014, returning to score twice against England at the end of the World Cup in June.

On Thursday, Barcelona lost the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid in Jeddah and Suarez was a part of that game. This 32-year-old has played 23 matches for Barcelona this season, scoring fourteen goals (eleven in the league and three in the Champions League) with seven assists to La Liga. In the Round of 16 of the Champions League, Barcelona faced Napoli and became top.
