Lionel Messi has won the Best FIFA Men’s Player 2019 award which has been revealed earlier today at the Opera House, Milan. But now, the question is raised that would Messi win the Ballon d’Or this time? Still, some football legends think that for the reasons, Messi would miss the Ballon d’Or this time!
After three years, Lionel Messi has won the Best FIFA Men’s Player award. Earlier today, the Best FIFA Football 2019 function took place in Milan where the Argentine captain Messi won the Best FIFA Men’s Player trophy. From 2016 to 2018, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric won the UEFA, FIFA and Ballon d’Or awards and so, Messi got no chance to step forward on the stage though his performance was so amazing in these years.

For the UEFA Euro 2016 title victory, CR7 won the Ballon d’Or and for 2018, Luka Modric played well in the Russia World Cup 2018 and claimed the title. But, LM10 also played well if we look at the individual performance. And in the last season, Van Dijk led the Reds to the Champions League title and grabbed the Best UEFA Men’s Player award. And after the Best FIFA award, it has been thought still that Messi would miss the Ballon d’Or.

Besides, the fans have not selected Van Dijk as the best player and most of them voted for LM10. Messi got more than 1.3 million votes where Ronaldo got 962k and the Best UEFA Men’s Player Van Dijk got a little more than 700k.
The main reason why Messi would not win the Ballon d’Or is the journalist’s vote. This has made the Reds defender Van Dijk as the favorite. The top-rated journalists vote used to make the Ballon d’Or winner. In the FIFA Best award, Lionel Messi and Cristiano were nowhere near to the Dutch defender considering the journalists vote. Van Dijk got 462 votes where Messi got 364 votes and Ronaldo received 264 votes so far.
