Zimbabwe cricket team has recently finished Bangladesh tour where they attended a Tri-Nation series along with the home team Bangladesh and Afghanistan. It was a T20I series. Now, the lower-ranked team is travelling Singapore where they are scheduled to participate in another Tri-Nation Series. The three teams are Singapore, Zimbabwe and Nepal. The tournament started earlier today and the T20I series started with the match between Nepal and Zimbabwe. Now, according to the report, Zimbabwe managed the first match victory against Nepal!
In their last series, Zimbabwe just managed one victory which was against Afghanistan. They could not qualify for the final where the Tigers and team Afghan played the final of the tournament. Now, in the Singapore Tri-Nation Series, Zimbabwe made a good start. By winning their first match, they have got their confidence back.

However, earlier today at the Indian Association Ground, Singapore Zimbabwe played their first match in the Tri-Nation Series. Their opponent Nepal won the toss and came to bat first. For Nepal, Kushal Malla and Ishan Pandey made their T20I debut and for Zimbabwe, Brian Chari made his T20I debut as we speak. Earlier, during the Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series, Masakadza took his retirement and so, against Nepal, a new captain of Zimbabwe stepped forward. The captain is Sean Williams.

Pandey and Khadka opened the innings for Nepal. In 5 runs, opener Pandey returned to the dressing room. In the 32 runs, the 2nd wicket was gone. It was Aarif Sheikh. Khadka who was the 2nd opener added 18 runs. The top scorer for Nepal was Airee who scored 40 runs so far. Finally, Bhandari and Sompal finished the innings with 11 and 25 runs respectively. By playing complete 20 overs, team Nepal presented 132 runs target in exchange for 6 wickets.
Later, Zimbabwe came to chase. Nepal seemed an easy opponent to experienced Zimbabwe but their openers just added 19 runs. Chari made the score. Rest three players could not open their runs account. But, Maruma who added 12 runs. Finally, Burl and Mutumbami led the guest team to the victory. They lost five wickets to chase the score. Mutumbami scored 40 runs and Burl added the highest 41 runs so far. Both of them were unbeaten. In 18.1 overs, Zimbabwe claimed their victory.
